  • Learn about the various modifiers (umbrellas, softboxes, etc..) and how they produce different results.
  •  Lighting principles. Learn how to get soft light, hard light, and everything in between.
  • Learn how to use soft or hard light to create flattering results or dramatic effects.
  • Learn what your camera settings should be when using flash.
  • Learn to sculpt, create depth, dimension and detail with light.
  • Avoid common mistakes.

Outdoor Lighting   ~ $540 or $600 w/ model provided

6 hour session  /  2 hours of discussion, presentation, and Q&A  /  1 hour introduction to lighting gear  /  2 hours hands on, shooting with lights on-location / 1 hours of final Q&A

Before you choose to book the Outdoor Lighting session, I highly recommend that you have a strong understanding of exposure, specifically the Exposure Triangle (Aperture / Shutter Speed / ISO) You should also feel confident with shooting in Manual Mode.

  • Learn about the various lighting/flash equipment options.
  • Learn about the various modifiers (umbrellas, softboxes, etc..) and how they produce different results.
  •  Lighting principles. Learn how to get soft light, hard light, and everything in between.
  • Learn how to use soft or hard light to create flattering results or dramatic effects.

  • Balancing the available light with flash.
  • Learn how to go from light and airy to bold and dramatic in 2 seconds by changing one setting on your camera.
  • Using colored gels to color correct and to enhance your images.
  • Over powering the sun.
  • Learn to shoot during any part of the day…and not always in the shade.
  • Getting your flash off the camera. Learn about various wireless triggers and pros and cons of each.

Lightroom Workflow  ~ $480

4-5 hour session
  • Learn what Lightroom is, what it’s designed to do and what it’s not designed to do.
  • Learn how to shave hours off of your post processing workflow.
  • Learn the proper way to organize your images.
  • Learn the proper way to cull your images to be efficient and save time.
  • Keywording, color labeling, rating, picking, rejecting, rating, and why you should be in the habit of doing these steps.
  • Protect your images from theft by using Metadata info.
  • Presets. There are presets for just about every task in LR that saves tons of time.
  • Importing/Exporting
  • [ Catalogs, Collections, Collection Sets, Smart Collections ] What are they and how they can make your life easier.
  • Printing from LR
  • Creating slideshows
  • Creating awesome looking online galleries using LR
